                Medical Coding is the process of assigning standard codes to medical diagnoses and procedures related to the treatment of patients in order to facilitate the collection and analysis of healthcare data.

           Medical coders use the alphanumeric codes from various coding systems, including the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) and the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes, to assign codes to diagnoses and procedures.

               ICD Codes or International Classification of Disease are set of diagnostic codes set by World Health Organisation (WHO). These codes contains diagnosis, signs and symptoms and other abnormal findings on a patient. For instance ICD code, For instance ICD code, L70.9 denotes Acne.
