             Medical Coding is the process of transforming descriptions of medical diagnoses and procedures into universal medical codes. These codes must be accurate as these codes are later billed to insurance companies to claim insurance for payment purpose. Medical Coders take codes from a previously assigned codes, which includes ICD, CPT and HCPCS.

              International Classification of Diseases are set of codes published and managed by World Health Organisation (WHO). These codes contains, diagnosis, signs and symptoms or any other abnormal findings on a patient. For instance, ICD code M54.2 denotes Cervicalgia. 

              Cervicalgia is a type of neck pain that is caused by a variety of conditions, including muscle strain, ligament strain, disc degeneration, arthritis, and nerve compression. Symptoms may include stiffness, tenderness, limited range of motion, headaches, and pain when moving the head or neck. Treatment for cervicalgia may include rest, icing, heat, exercise, physical therapy, medications, and in some cases, surgery.
