                        Medical Coding is the conversion of a patient's diagnosis, treatment received, prescriptions, equipment used into alphanumeric codes. These codes must be accurate as they are billed to insurance companies to claim insurance for payment purposes. The medical coders uses a set of universal codes for coding purposes, mainly ICD, CPT and HCPCS.
