                     Medical Coding is the process of assigning numeric or alphanumeric codes to medical diagnoses and procedures, and entering them into a computerized record system.

There are certain roles and responsibilities for a medical coder:

6. Maintain coding databases and other coding-related records. 

7. Provide coding education and training to other staff members. 

8. Attend and participate in coding review meetings. 

9. Prepare and submit coding reports. 

10. Stay current on coding and reimbursement changes.
